Covid Diary
Like many, I have struggled to process the sheer magnitude of the Coronavirus. In the beginning of the pandemic, I spent every day on the NY Times and Washington Post website, obsessively tracking Covid-19’s spread. However, I grew concerned that the headlines, charts and graphs used to convey the scale of the virus were unequipped to convey the real, emotional toll that the virus took. I began to collect and photograph these fragments of the news, hoping to imbue these numerical figures with the humanity they sought to represent. These photos are a visual diary-of covid, the politics of the time and the way they affect our everyday lives.
